This piece is a modern take on a Siren mermaid.

Sirens are evil mermaids; this is my personal vision of the mermaid-like-femme fatale (half-fish/half-woman).

The story of Swim Fan is about a woman who hides her jealousy with seduction and beauty. She mystifies and allures her many lovers with delicate skin that glistens in the light. Her intentions are pure - often. Yet, the darker side to her, masked by beauty, will continually dilute her actions in her ongoing search of contentment.

Special Details:

  • iridescent paint is used through (please note the subtle gold shadings from certain angles/lighting)

  • cow rawhide canvas (repurposed)

  • varnished with a transparent, glossy, protective finish
