I was inspired by the Ty Beanie Babies toy craze from the 1990s. The color palette draws not only from the 90s era, but the Official Ty Beanie Baby, Clubby, himself (circa 1997), and the Ty brand logo.

I was inspired by my favorite VHS and game rental store from the 1990s, Blockbuster (and its iconic rental card). The color palette draws from the Blockbuster Video brand.
Inspiration from Andy Warhol’s ‘Campbell’s Soup Cans

This is a modern, pop art take on Andy Warhol’s ‘Marilyn Diptych’ (1962). I was inspired by Warhol’s own use of bright colors throughout his collections, which are often symbolic of the 1950s and 60s.
I wanted to emphasize Marilyn Monroe’s timeless beauty and iconic look, without the emphasizing her sensualness.

I was inspired by the Mattel fashion doll, Barbie.
This one-of-a-kind 3D Barbie piece emphasizes the message for women to be their own free agents in life. Barbie is every (female), thus, she has the ability to be anything that she wants. She is anyone and everything all at once, it’s all based on Barbie’s choosing. In Barbie World, every female is as equally skilled and beautiful as anyone else.

Make a Political Statement with Art

This is a personal piece for me that depicts my PTSD. It also represents the metaphor of overcoming troubled waters.
Inspiration from Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam in the Sistine Chapel
With PTSD, it is a journey to learn that you cannot drown your demons (because your past always carries with you). There is also a biblical aspect to this piece, depicted in the drips of blood that create a cross.
